BELGUARD® KS NB

BELGUARD® KS NB is a combination of key ingredients Sodium Benzoate, one of the most common food preservative largely used in cosmetics & pharmaceuticals coupled with Potassium Sorbate, extensively used as fungi static agent in foods, beverages, pharmaceuticals & cosmetics.

The combination of both has proved synergistic. Due to the high activity against yeasts & moulds, it suits the needs of cosmetics highly susceptible to fungal contamination.

General Remarks

  • BELGUARD® KS NB is a clear yellow liquid, practically odourless and well tolerated at temperatures up to 80°C for a short duration (max. 4 hours). The recommended pH for the final formulations is max. 5.5, preferably 5 or lower. The efficacy of BELGUARD KS NB depends on the pH value. The antimicrobial activity increases as pH value reduces, hence lower pH value leads to greater preservative efficiency.
  • BELGUARD® KS NB is alkaline in nature & can increase the pH value of final formulation, hence pH of finished product must be checked and if necessary adjusted to max. 5.5 or lower.
